First Love

Spread the message

Being the wife of a military officer is hard you have got to be OKAY with a lot of stuff which is not normal. It is very demanding and comes with its pleasures as well as pains. You have to got to hold it together personally socially and professionally. Rarely things go as planned. It may or seem surreal. Your role may seem old fashioned. The bottom line is:

Military life is a life of sacrifice, however large or small, for service members and their families.

Presenting a poem by Mrs Lakshmi Mini. Dedicated to all the family members of armed forces.

I am his second love he says.
He’s left me for her most of the time,
Special seconds often faded out.
But I was never sad throughout!

I love him to the core.
Even when the breakfast gets so cold.
My wait for him has no cure,
Wrong if our love sounds too old!
I feel proud of being his second love,
The first being the nation to which he bows.
A true soldier’s wife indeed…
It taught me being loved just isn’t my greed.
I know how he feels inside.
He always misses me when I am not by his side.
I always revere him and his duty.
I miss him – yet do not shed a tear.

Even when the doorbell rings
I feel it’s a new dawn that sings
Though the sun might have set long back
All this happens only when my hero is back.

“It doesn’t get easier. You just get stronger.” – Mrs Lakshmi Mini
