AN ODE TO A FRIEND – Who never spoke a word

Spread the message
The face was wrinkled,
Not his soul,
Like the giant Bargadh tree,
who shelters one and all.

The ears didn't hear well,
The nose wasn't good to smell,
There was warmth in eyes that still glowed,
Without speech, they held us in his spell.

He shared our happiness and our sorrows,
Wagging his tail or just sitting by our side,
Gave his love to the many homes where he stayed,
But to us, he behaved like a son and a guide.

In the decades, he met so many,
He gave his love and so much joy,
His presence made us secure,
Empathic, with controlled emotions, oh boy!

The last few months were not too easy,
Faltering memories and loss of control,
God's reminders on his body of dust,
The angels finally took him to his goal.

A tiny little bundle he came,
A tiny bundle as he left,
We buried him under a shady tree,
Turned to leave, we all, simply wept.
'BUDDY' WAS WITH US FOR 15 OF HIS LIFE'S 17 YEARS. WE LOST HIM TO 'OLD AGE' in November, 2020.
PRAY, HIS SOUL RESTS IN PEACE.
