There are two distinct aspects of producing a webinar that you need to think about – the technical side, and the content side. Both present unique challenges, some of which are easier to solve than others. We will first look at webinar types for different purposes.
1. Educational
If you want to educate your audience on the field you’re an expert within, webinars are one of the most effective ways to do it. To run an educational webinar, it’s best to use well-prepared slides or a whiteboard video, as it utilizes the visual capabilities of webinars. It is also a good idea to have a coordinator who introduces the speaker and later controls the question-answer session. You should also have an external expert speaker to summarize the webinar as well as present his opinion and answer participants’ questions in collaboration with you.
2. Product webinars
When you have a great product to showcase to a lot of people, create an interactive webinar. The webinar should be attractive and highlight important aspects of the product including comparative detail with other products. You should also pay attention to answer participants’ questions. The basic purpose of a product webinar should be to educate the participants and getting their attention to your product. You should also pay attention to collect as much feedback on your product by making the webinar interactive. The secondary aim should be to nurture your leads and even convert them into actual customers, making a sale.
3. User onboarding
For companies offering software, an onboarding educational webinar to teach nuances of the software would be a great starting point. Make sure you understand the technical qualification and user requirements before holding the webinar. The learning curve should be soft and slow. Use screen sharing option during the webinar.
4. Employee training and team meetings
Webinars are also a great platform for training and team meetings when you have a remote team, or a team too big to fit into a room together. It gives a good opportunity to interact and build team spirit.
5. Lead generation and list building
There are numerous intangible benefits of holding a webinar. Every webinar that you conduct, you will gain invaluable leads that you can follow up and nurture in subsequent webinars. You will have an ever-growing list of phone numbers and email addresses because they will trust you. Whether paid or free webinar always promote it across different channels and never break their trust.
6. Customer retention and nurturing
Once you have decided to hold a webinar, I am sure you will not stop and would like to hold a few more. It gives a very potent platform to connect with your customer or viewers or students or whoever your target may be. The viewers also feel nourished and satisfied when they learn and assimilate something new at regular intervals. The personal relationship you build along the way is key to keep them coming back. With each webinar the bond becomes stronger and you get more leads and viewers.
