SUBJECT: Basic Radio Propogation
Question No. 1
Antennae feeding cables are used to
[ Total Que.:22 ]
loss of power radiated to free space
prevent interference with other radio systems within the aircraft
both of the above
none of the above
Explaination:
Antennae are designed to transfer energy in the form of electromagnetic waves from the element to free space efficiently. However, the antenna is likely to be remote from the transmitter where the electromagnetic wave originates. If a simple piece of wire connected the transmitter to the antenna it would undoubtedly act as an antenna and radiate electromagnetic energy within the aircraft. (Radiation Losses). This would result in loss of power radiated to free space and also interference with other radio systems within the aircraft. To prevent these problems specialised antennae feeders are required at higher frequency.
